Dr. Jami Quick

Hi, I'm Dr. Jami Quick and I am the owner of Tender Care Animal Hospital. Being a veterinarian has been a life long dream of mine. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Following that, I attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison's School of Veterinary Medicine. After Veterinary school, I married Ken Quick who was originally from Prairie du Chien and worked in Eastern Wisconsin and in Viroqua before purchasing Tender Care. We now live in Prairie and we love this beautiful area. Our family consists of our children, Kyle and Kailee, our dog Ranger and three cats Pretzel, Biscuit and Peanut. It has always been my ambition to provide exceptional and compassionate care to animals. We have a wonderful, educated staff that will ensure the best care for your pet. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to provide the highest quality of care possible for your pet.

Dr. Sara Niemand

Hi, I'm Dr. Sara Niemand and I joined the Tender Care staff in June 2007. I obtained my bachelors degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University and went on to receive my veterinary degree from there. While there, I worked in the USDA labs performing tests for avian viruses. My areas of interest within the field include surgery, exotic animal medicine and focusing on the human-animal bond. I now live in Prairie du Chien with my dog Charlie and my two cats, Angel and Tinkerbell. I look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone and their pets!

Nicki, Veterinary Technician

Hello, my name is Nicki Snider, I am a Certified Veterinary Technician. I received my degree from MATC in Madison, Wisconsin, in May 1996. I started at Tender Care in February 1998. I live in the country near Lancaster, with my 3 kids, Austin, Carli, and Camryn. My pet family consists of 3 dogs, 2 cats, a goat and 3 horses. Our hospital is the only premier small animal clinic in this area. Our team is willing to provide compassionate care to all clients and their pets who honor us with their pet needs. Steph, Veterinary Technician Hi, my name is Stephanie Waterman. I am a Certified Veterinary Technician. I went to school in Bloomington, Minnesota. My current pet family consists of 4 dogs (Tango, Yoda, Gretchen & Zora) and 3 cats (Tyler, Oreo, & Obi). I look forward to meeting you and your pets soon!!

Jen, Veterinary Technician

Hi, my name is Jen Fortman and I am also a Certified Veterinary Technician. I graduated from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA. I started at Tender Care in June of 2006. I live in Marquette, IA with Kurt, my husband, our son Justin, and Brandy the cat. I have always been involved with animals as pets, in 4-H, and dog shows. I look forward to getting to know everyone and their pets!

Susan, Veterinary Technician Hello! I am Susan Van Metre and I am the newest certified vet tech on the Tender Care team. I joined the staff in the autumn of 2007. I am a 1975 graduate of St. Petersburg College in Florida. My career has been split between small animal hospitals and zoo medicine. I was on staff at Busch Gardens (Tampa) and Walt Disney World. My special interest is any kind of lab work, and I enjoy educating clients about their pets' needs. My husband Joe and I are building a house in the woods just north of Effigy Mounds to share with our 2 big dogs, Snickers and 'Tater, and 2 cats, Stripes and Hopper. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!

Chelsea, Veterinary Assistant Hi, my name is Chelsea Kettler and I am a Veterinary Assistant here at Tender Care. I recently moved to the Prairie du Chien area with my husband Seth. I have one dog named Buddy who is spoiled rotten and I love more than life! I love all types of animals and I can't wait to meet you and your pets!
Rachel, Veterinary Technician Student Hi, I'm Rachel Schildgen. I am a Veterinary Technican student at MATC, Madison. I started working here as a kennel assistant in June of 2005. I grew up in the country right outside of Lancaster. I have 2 cats; one that I adopted from one of our Technicians, Steph, named Cleo, and one I adopted from MATC named Corrina. I enjoy deer hunting during the Fall and spending time with my boyfriend.

Hello, my name is Bobbie and I am the current groomer at Tender Care! I joined the staff in the Fall of 2007. I enjoy working with horses and spending time with my family as well as making your dog or cat beautiful and pampered! I look forward to getting to know you and your pet!

Sandy, Accountant

Hi, my name is Sandy Kittle, the accountant for the clinic. I have one energetic dog named Chloe! My husband and I have two sons, one daughter and several grandchildren. I enjoy quilting and spending time at our cottage, "Back of the Moon" in Northern Wisconsin.

Adam, Kennel Supervisor

Hello, my name is Adam Heiring. I am the Kennel Supervisor here at Tender Care. I have been employed at Tender Care since 1998. My job consists of making sure your pet thinks they are on vacation! (A long walk, fresh water, food, clean bedding/environment and, of course, a little treat.) When I'm not at work, you'll see me walking my dog, Tipper or playing with my cat, Midnight. In closing, I would like to say, " I know it's hard to leave your loved one behind, but rest assured, we at Tender Care truly do care for your pet!"

Alexis, Clinic Attendant

Hi, I am Alexis Burns. I have worked part-time for Tender Care since it opened in 1996. I work on Saturday mornings and weekends to help provide a happy, fun and healthy environment for your boarding pets. I am originally from the Chicago area and moved to Prairie du Chien over 25 years ago. My pet family is now 3 Maine coon cats (Molly, Sam and Bonnie), and my Border Collie (Gem). I have enjoyed training Gem in obedience, agility and herding, along with lots of tricks and playing with a big red ball. Gem has recently earned her Therapy dog title! I enjoy being a part of the Tender Care team in caring for your pet.

Faith & Scout, Greeters

Hi, my name is Faith and I am the calico kitty and my friend Scout is the grey tortoise shell kitty. We are the official Tender Care Greeters. You may see us on the counter when you come in or sleeping in the blue bed under the counter. We love living at the clinic because we get to meet so many new people and we receive the best medical care! I hope to greet you and your pet soon!!!!
